MANDALA (曼荼羅)

Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting with one of my Japanese clients to show him a picture of a piece of colourful Repel Art that I had painted for an Italian collector. The art piece, called Repel Mandala, was originally exhibited in Taranto, Southern Italy. My client, who was familiar with the concept of mandalas, was immediately drawn to the piece and expressed his admiration for it.For those who may not be familiar with the term, a mandala is a geometric pattern or symbol that represents the universe in Hindu and Buddhist traditions. It is often used in meditation practices to help focus the mind and achieve a sense of calm and harmony. In the art world, mandalas have become a popular subject for artists who want to explore the spiritual and meditative qualities of the symbol. The Repel technique I use it not the same as Mandalas but has an unique imagery of its own. After expressing his appreciation for the Repel Art Mandala piece, my Japanese client commissioned me to produce a similar piece for him. Although the image will not be the same, it will still capture the essence of the mandala spirit. I am excited to begin working on this new project and exploring the infinite possibilities of Repel art. This meeting with my Japanese client was a wonderful reminder of the power of art to transcend cultural and linguistic boundaries. Through art, we were able to connect our shared appreciation for beauty and creativity. I look forward to continuing to collaborate with clients from all over the world and exploring the rich diversity of artistic traditions that exist in our global community.

Marilyn Monroe in Art Repel

These two pieces are from a set of four. Commissioned by a Japanese Art magazine. These would look great adorning any restaurant or bar...
